| On the sixth day we head to a little castle town on top of a hill called Castello Ginori di Querceto. This was the surprise of the trip! After a tour of the town and winery we had a tasting of two of their three wines with Salumi and Cheese of course. For the lunch we were invited into the main hall of the 14th century castle to have lunch on china that was over 200 years old. One of the family members mentioned it was only his fourth meal in that room in his life. During the white glove service lunch we enjoyed the final third and highest level wine of which the group together bought 22 cases of! We then headed back to the estate for our evening meal of Pig n’ Tig. There were three fantastic pigs and local sausage on the rotisserie which we enjoyed with the latest release of the 2005 Tignanello. |
